Indie gaming: osu!

The Rhythm genre, made extremely popular with Konami’s Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, and of course Dance Dance Revolution, has always been an addicting one in my mind. As a talanted musician-in-limbo I have always dug these types of games, although that mainly pertains to Guitar Hero/Rock Band.
At the same time, however, Nintendo and Inis put rhythm to the stylus with the Japanese hit Osu! Tatake! Ouendan!, which sees players tapping hit circles and dragging across sliders to music as they appear on the screen. Over here, that became Elite Beat Agents with its exclusive 15 song library of popular western hits spanning the past 20 or so years.
Gamer Gear: Carrying More Games and Less Cases; The Loyal Nintendo-ite Way

When it comes to Nintendo and handhelds, it has always baffled me how, as the handhelds get more and more advanced and the games become bigger, the cartridges have always become smaller. I was shocked when the GBA came out and found that the cartridges were maybe not even half the size of that of the game boy and the GBC. Even moreso with the fact that DS game cards are even smaller. Here’s the thing, though; I like to keep my game cards safe from dust, but for that why do I have to carry around a case for each game that’s double the size of my DS lite?
Looking Into the Mind of a Gamer

Allow me to welcome you to “A Gamer’s Mind,” a blog in which I speak my mind about gaming, video games, happenings in the gaming industry, or whatever happens to come to my mind that involves video games. For now, the blog’s backend has been finished to my liking, although it may take a couple of weeks to create a nice visual look so in the meantime please bear with me as we set things up.
I usually have things to talk about when it comes to video games, as it’s one of my main hobbies (along with music and sports) and something that I’ve lived with for most of my life.
My goal is to be updating almost regularly, not necessarily on a daily basis but whenever something comes to mind, and that will (hopefully) start within the next week or so. Until then, happy gaming.
