Running around with your head cut off for a week leaves me little time to write a blog post, so today I will be trying my best to do a double update.
Fighting games are quite the genre of its own. One on one fights in which you try to bust out absolutely insane combos and memorize complex button combinations make it one of the more difficult and more competitive types of games out there. I remember back in the days; I was so bad with Street Fighter II that I couldn’t even throw a Hadouken. The game when it initially made its way to the SNES was a hit with all the boys at school. They would go home and that’s all they’d play.

The Rhythm genre, made extremely popular with Konami’s Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, and of course Dance Dance Revolution, has always been an addicting one in my mind. As a talanted musician-in-limbo I have always dug these types of games, although that mainly pertains to Guitar Hero/Rock Band.
At the same time, however, Nintendo and Inis put rhythm to the stylus with the Japanese hit Osu! Tatake! Ouendan!, which sees players tapping hit circles and dragging across sliders to music as they appear on the screen. Over here, that became Elite Beat Agents with its exclusive 15 song library of popular western hits spanning the past 20 or so years.

Anyone who has played any sort of online game, or even been on a website with any sort of community integration, knows about the “username” or in the case of gaming the “in-game-name”, more aptly known as an IGN. Over time, most people grow an attachment to said names. (Much like myself and the names “Moofey”, “Dah-BAM!”, or one that would fit one of the ten I’m about to mention, “musicman2059″)
Unfortunately, too many of those names are based off of well-known fads. These names are usually taken by people that have no sense of netiquette and in some cases only want to cause problems. Of course, not all are like this and they don’t influence my list in any way, but after seeing so many names of the same, it starts to get really annoying.
This is a list that has been done by people before. Some of mine might be similar to those lists with a difference: This is my list. The following ten IGN fads are all things that I think need to be put to rest ASAP.
